splendor, as this 212-acre park is one of the Souths finest. Nestled
in the heart of Central Alabama and on the outskirts of beautiful Lake
Martin, this areas beauty and serenity offer a retreat to the
soul.
October
11, 2008 the park will be closed off to thru traffic and be transformed
into a magnificent fall festival wonderland called Oktoberfest.
In addition to the numerous everyday highlights of our park you will
be able to enjoy a cornucopia of vendors and entertainment. Arts, crafts,
and culinary delights will be on hand to please guests of all ages.
One
area of the Sportplex frequently visited is our 12,000 square foot community
built playground locally referred to as Imagination Station.
It is a playground designed for all ages.
Also
located at the Sportplex is a nature trail and waterfall for those looking
for still even more tranquility. At Oktoberfest you can enjoy all of
the sights and sounds of a large celebration while still enjoying the
beauty of a fall in the midst of a peaceful, serene park.

east of the Tallapoosa River Bridge. Lakewinds municipal course is built
